ThinkCentre E73 PSU Upgrade

2018-01-02, 21:00 PM

Hello! I've bought a new video card, an SSD and a RAM. I  installed all of them and I realized that I don't have enough power to run my PC properly. This means I have to buy a new PSU (old one has 180W), but i don't know what size it should be: ATX, SFX, TFX or other. Please help me!

PS: I know that the PSU will have a 24 pin connector and the motherboard has 14 pin but I found an adapter so it's ok ;)

Solved! See the solution

Hi OvidiuD,

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

By looking at the System Service Parts list of this model, it has a TFX Single output PSU

I hope the above information helped you.

Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Regards,
Prabhansh

Thanks! But I have a question: Would a different size PSU than the one I have fit? Sorry, I don't know a lot about PSUs.

:)

Following PSU's are tested with your system :

  • 54Y8874            TFX 240W Single output PSU
  • 54Y8849            TFX 240W Single output PSU
  • 54Y8897            TFX 240W Single Output PSU

Apart from these you can try this and this aswell.

From what I see, the E73 came in a tower and a SFF (small form factor - thin desktop model), with typically different sized power supplies.  Which type system do you have?  Even better, would be the 4 digit model number.

All 10DS came with 180w, and from the photos of the rear from the Lenovo website, I see that it uses an ATX power supply like other towers:  Thinkcentre-M82-M93p-replace-a-power-supply-in-a-tower-case

Only an ATX supply will fit correctly, and will screw in exactly the same as the original.
