ThinkCentre Edge 72 3484 PCIe Blank Screen

2015-01-20, 9:50 AM

I've just installed a new GPU (Nvidia GT630) into my PCIe slot and I'm having some issues getting the display to work.

When I boot the PC it posts with the Lenovo logo then starts to load Windows (8.1), however once the loading icon disapears the screen turns off.

I've tried changing the video settings in bio but this hasn't helped.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Richard

What settings did you change in BIOS and what values did you set?

Ok can you set BIOS to "Auto" and connect monitor to onboard graphics. Does it work properly?

If yes, can you after that check if the BIOS is altest - if not please update it. After that - reconnect the GeForce and see if now OK ...

Okay I tried what you suggested and this hasn't resolved the issue, I have uninstalled Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 and the Nvidia card seems to be working, not ideal but I'm happy to play with Windows 7

Okay please ignore my previous comment, it isn't fixed once the Gpu drivers were installed the issue came back.  Is there any know problems with Nvidia gpu drivers and this particular pc?

Okay, so I think i'm finally getting somewhere.

I have installed 2x different ATI cards and they have both installed without any issues, so it would appear that there is some compatibility issue with this board and Nvidia Drivers.
