ThinkCentre M55 + PCI Express

hi !

i tried adding a raid controller (lsilogic 3041 sas) to my M55. (removed the DVI adapter)

in theory, that should work, because the PEG slot is a PCI-E x16 slot - isn`t it ?

I checked the controller in another machine and it works without problems, but it fails in M55.

in the beginning, machine won`t even boot, but i found quickly that was due to bios setting - after setting to probe/use onboard video first, the machine booted again.

but the controller doesn`t give any message on boot and cannot be seen by any OS.

hints?
will a bios update help ?

regards
roland

Re: ThinkCentre M55 + PCI Express

The controller works perfectly fine in the same slot in M57 , MT-M 6075-CTO

so why doesn`t it work in  8798-D9G  ?
