ThinkCentre M800z: Touchscreen cursor jumps to upper left or right corner

Just replaced 2 clients old desktops with 2 shiny new ThinkCentre M800z All-IN-One complete with TouchScreen.

The problem I am having is, the Touch screen cursor will jump to one of the upper corners and if you take your finger and try to drag elsewhere and release ..it will go right back to that corner..

I have dealt with ELO touchscreens with other clients and I know sometimes the Touch gets out of whack and you need to run a Touch screen alignment tool to get the touch back to normal.

Any insight or tips I can try to fix would be greatly appreciated?

Can you give us the model numbers, the BIOS version and date, and the OS info.

Is it possible to get the BIOS version and date ?

Obtain your BIOS version by running 'system information' in Windows, or by entering BIOS setup (repeatedly press and release the F1 key when turning on the computer.)

And can you run 'system update', there may be drivers associated with the touchscreen that need updating.

Re: ThinkCentre M800z: Touchscreen cursor jumps to upper left or right corner

Hi,

we have the same problem with Windows 10 pro 64bit.

Model# 10ETCT01WW

1. Cold start: touch screen mostly working or sometimes only for a short time.

2. Warm start: 2 - 10 rings are appearing on the screen, always some in the corners, and some spread over the middle area. Afterwards mouse cursor is jumping to the left upper corner and during movement always jumping between

current position and upper left corner. Working with mouse is getting impossible after the rings are appearing. Programs are starting from ghost hand, taskbar is also not hiding even if there is no app in focus, ghost events were executed and others made won't be executed. It seems like the calibration programs keeps hanging and is not able to be started ....

ThinkCentre M800Z Touch Screen problems

Hi,

we have currently a lot of problems with touch screen.

Windows 10 pro 64bit.

ThinkCentre M800z
Model# 10ETCT01WW

1. Cold start: touch screen mostly working or sometimes only for a short time.

2. Warm start: 2 - 10 rings are appearing on the screen, always some in the corners, and some spread over the middle area. Afterwards mouse cursor is jumping to the left upper corner and during movement always jumping between

Programs are starting from ghost hand, taskbar is also not hiding even if there is no app in focus, ghost events were executed and others made won't be executed. It seems like the calibration programs keeps hanging and is not able to be started ....

3. Also the graphic driver is making troubles and showing the old Vista error, "graphic driver is not working and will be restored ..."

I'm clueless right now what else we can do to solve these issues. We currently disabled touch screen, but it's really not helping a lot, because we want to use the touch screen when it's included.

Has somebody an idea what we can change except all driver and tools updates ?

Use this thread to update to the latest driver direct from Intel.

ThinkCentre M800z touchscreen problems

We have taken delivery of six ThinkCentre M800z All-in-Ones

System: 10ET-CTO1WW

Model: M800z

Bios: FVKT43AUS

Operating System: Win10 64-bit 10.0.10586

I have unpacked three of the six so far and I am experiencing the same issues with all three.  The touchscreen works for a short time, then the touch screen "cursor" jumps to to the top left (sometimes bottom left) and renders the touchscreen inoperable.

I have tried all the usual troubleshooting steps including: driver updates, BIOS update, disabling "fast boot", disabling "hide pointer while typing" in mouse, running sfc.exe, and a number of other possible solutions from this (and other) forums.  Nothing has helped!

Is this possibly a driver issue or a BIOS/firmware issue?  Is there an updated driver required for the HID touchscreen? We need the touchscreen functionality for the software package we are intending to run on these machines, so disabling it is not an option.

I am becoming very frustrated now and would really appreciate a solution!  Many thanks.
