2019-06-12, 15:15 PM

Hi,

I would like to add a 10GBe Pcie 8x card to my ThinkCentre M920 Tiny.  Is it possible to do so with a riser card

and if so where can i get one ?

Thanks

Did you manage to resolve this issue? I need to do something similar with a ThinkCentre Tiny M720q but it appears that the PCI slot is non-standard i.e. does not key to any PCIe x8 connector.

Yeah, I managed to plug it in and BIOS did detect it. Good luck.

What card (with model number) did you put into the riser?  Thx.

I have used a Mellanox Connectx-2 NIC. Link here:

I haven't done any speed tests or data transfers yet, but it is detected in BIOS and by the OS so it should work fine.

Do you happen to have a picture of this configuration?

Is this what you wanted? You have to replace the back grill/plate with something custom. You also need to mechanically stabilize the NIC with standoffs or something else. Clearly I haven't gotten around to doing that :)
