RTX 2070: M92p -- does not work in M91p
GTX 1080: M910t
GTX 1060: M920t, M93p, M91p, M90p
GTX 1050 & 1050 Ti: M910t, M900, M700, M83, M92p, M82, M72e, M91p, M71e
GTX 750 & 750 Ti: All models M58 w/Q45 Chipset and newer
RX 460: M700 (10GR), M83, M82 -- but beware that while it worked in these systems, newer AMD cards are notorious for not working in older ThinkCentre and IdeaCentre models
GT 1030: M910s, M710t, M800, M91p, M91, M90p, M82, M81, M78, M72, M71e, M58, M57 6072
Here's an example of what a Passmark system benchmark search result looks like (search on user description and enter your model number), by scrolling right, select best 3D performance, which will rank best graphics cards from the top. The benchmark is also a good way to verify that your system is performing as expected, by comparing to other systems of the same model and/or specs.

I use a mp91 7033, and I can say it supports a gtx 1060 6gb (Inno3d X2). I did however remove the motherboard from the original Lenovo case, and I use a different psu.

Happy to report that I got the AMD Radeon RX460 to fully work on a stock ThinkCentre M83 Mini Tower! No PSU or mainboard upgrade needed (as long as you use the 6-pin less variants of the card). Can the m91p support the gtx 1080 or will it not work

Yes it will. I refer you to the 'readme' file described in item 4 of the pinned 'Read First ..' thread. The power supply will need upgrading, and whether the original case and fans can accommodate such a large card and cope with heat output are another issue.
