ThinkCentre product line updated - July 2020

2020-05-31, 14:23 PM

The entire ThinkCentre product line is being updated, with availability beginning in July.  Lenovo is using a new numbering nomenclature:  M70, M80, M90.

Most significantly they will feature 10th generation Intel processors, and AMD graphics card options replacing Nvidia.  The AMD 520 replacement for the obsoleted GT 730 provides like-for-like performance, if you are using an app that can benefit from greater graphics performance:  design, photo or video editing, CAD, then the RX 550X available with the Tower has 3 times better graphics performance.  Quadro cards are available from Lenovo;  or aftermarket solutions are possible, but without Lenovo warranty and support.

The M90n Nano was introduced early (albeit with older gen processor):  PCMag -- Lenovo ThinkCentre M90n Nano Review - Jan 2020

Hopefully they won't have as many availability problems as the previous generation. They seem to have been plagued with severe cpu shortages for nearly the entire time they were for sale.

I need to upgrade my system soon.

Lenovo makes terrible documentation on addon parts.. it is impossible to find or buy the correct additional parts.

as for the p330 and the m720q, the product pages mention all those optional card/cable for thunderbolts, etc, but no detail info given. it is just sad.  As the tiny machine is getting a huge popularity now (as most folks are only using it for normal stuff like browsing, etc)
