Thinkcentre M72e Tiny - fast blinking power (green) light

Hi all,

My Desktop Thinkcentre M72e doesn't power-on. The power-on green light is blinking fast but no sign on the screen at all.

Please can someone support me.

Many thanks,

Y

Re:Thinkcentre M72e Tiny - fast blinking power (green) light

It looks to me to be a power adapter problem, but it impossible to be certain, could also be a motherboard problem.  If you know anyone that has a similar Lenovo power adapter (also used with Lenovo laptops of the same time period), you could swap it in to test.

Re:Thinkcentre M72e Tiny - fast blinking power (green) light

Welcome to Lenovo Community Yoelis,

I agree with BiggAl that swapping the power adapter with a known working one from a similar Lenovo device is indeed a valuable troubleshooting step to narrow down the issue. The fast blinking power (green) light typically indicates a problem with either the power supply or the motherboard. Additionally, you can try disconnecting any external devices, such as USB devices or monitors, from the desktop, as a faulty external device can sometimes prevent the computer from starting up properly. Next, unplug the power cable from the desktop and press and hold the power button for approximately 10 seconds. This action will discharge any remaining power in the system. Afterward, plug the power cable back in and attempt to turn on the computer again.

Re:Thinkcentre M72e Tiny - fast blinking power (green) light

Hello Yoelis,

A fast blinking power light can be a sign of a motherboard issue, although it is not always the sole cause. Follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned earlier to determine the underlying problem. If unable to resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Lenovo's repair center or a local qualified technician for a thorough diagnosis and assistance.
