Hello, is it possible to install DD3 PC3-12800 into Thinkcentre Edge71 that usually accepts PC3-10600. Is there a way to check this somewhere in the system or BIOS. At the moment PC3-12800 is cheaper then PC3-10600 and I would like increase RAM from 8GB to 16GB. Thank you very much.

I have seen Crucial Memory use higher speed chips for their Lenovo 'System Specific' memory (the speed will drop to the lowest common denominator), but I believe the timings must be identical to the factory memory to work.

Thank you, sir.
My problem is actually more of the adimistrative nature, then of the economical. This is an office computer, I work for the goverment and we have complicated public procurement procedure for anything above 100Euros. PC3-10600 costs 120 euros for 16GB and PC3-12800 costs 99 euros for 16GB. Sorry for boring you, I had an urge to explain the nature of my question.
Thank you again.

Check both Crucial and Kingston Memory prices for your specific system model number, they're guaranteed to work, and it will be less than from Lenovo. Perhaps you can find it for less than 99 euros.
