i'm planning to get a new processor for my pc. would the latest processors be compatible with the motherboard as long as it fits a lg1156 socket?
edit: its a type 5536a cpu. one with i5 660 dual core 3.3ghz

A i5-750 or a i7-870 are possible as they have been used in that particular M90p model. However, both those processors are 95w, verus 73w of your existing model, and you would need to verify if an uprated cooler (heatsink, fan, SFF air shroud) was used with the 95w processor in a M90p SFF, which may be difficult to obtain.
I'd suggest you may be better off maxing the memory at 8GB, installing a 250GB+ SSD (can be an older slower model as your Q57 Chipset supports SATA II at 3Gb), and upgrading the graphics if need be (Gt 730 DDR5, Gtx 750 Ti, or current model equivalents.)

Did you implement all or some of these upgrades successfully?
I am thinking of trying the same, although I have a i5 CPU 650 @ 3.20GHz. (not sure if it is dual, there is a x 4 next to the description).

I see it is dual core now. And I assume I already have 8gb ram from this report.
Intel Core i5 650 @ 3.19GHz (2 Cores / 4 Threads), Motherboard: LENOVO 5536CTO, Chipset: Intel Core DRAM, Memory: 8192MB, Disk: 500GB Seagate ST3500418AS + 3001GB Backup+ Desktop, Graphics: Intel Core IGP
So defintely a graphics card upgrade, but maybe there is viability to a processor upgrade too, and a dedicated SSD for some beefier stuff. Would for the most like to make sure I can fit a card that support Open GLI 4.1 at least.
