mSATA in ThinkCentre M92z All-in-One (AIO)

Can I use a mSATA SSD (64 GB) within the M92z AIO?

With a micro solid state drive (mSATA SSD), will my computer still boot faster than a regular plate drive?  What about compared to a SATA SSD?

Will the operating system be loaded on the mSATA SSD when the system is delivered? (Online purchase)

The ThinkCentre M92z AIO 20 inch and 23 inch mdoel have a full height mPCIe slot, which you can put a mSATA SSD in.

See here for the position of mPCIe slot:

The mSATA SSD can be used as a separate harddrive, or as an expresscache drive, which is used to boost the performance of the main hdd by storing some frequently used files in the mSATA drive. From one of our forum user opinion, the speed is never going to be as fast running the OS directly from the mSATA SSD or from the SSD installed into the system.

However, Lenovo does not ship the mSATA SSD (if ordered with the ThinkCentre M92z) with the OS and recovery partition installed. If you want to use the mSATA as the main harddrive, you have to install the OS on the mSATA yourself.

The reason why OS is not installed on the mSATA SSD is due to space restriction. With the recovery partition and the OS + drivers installed it is already 40GB gone from the 64GB mSATA, which makes it useless as a main drive.

Paper Tape

Model A51 8122-55U My HDD is getting errors using the Seagate Tools Diagnostices. Also have Latency issues that are getting worse. I want to replace my 160Gb HDD with a 250Gb SSD running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I need to keep using my PC. Got signal cable for SSD and will pick up power connector available to install SSD at the same time as HDD.  Do Win easy transfer to external HDD from internal HDD. Do Clean install of Windows 7 on SSD. Remove HDD after I do Win Easy transfer from external HDD back to SSD.

Any Lenovo Sites to get this answered.?
