multiple 4x PCIe M.2 NVMe disk devices over single 16x PCIe adapter

2019-07-15, 13:20 PM

Hi there,

I want to use a 16x PCIe M.2 adapter to install multiple 4x NVMe disks over the 16x PCIe port to an M920s (Desktop) ThinkCentre.

The adapter is: Gigabyte CMT4034

Does Lenovo mainboards support PCIe spliting i.e. having 4 times M.2 NVMe disks (each using 4x PCIe lines) on a 16x PCIe adapter card?

The link that raised this question is: Gigabyte releases PCIe Add-in cards that house four M2 SSDs

Best,
