Display flickering after updating BIOS

Hi!

I updated BIOS to recommend version and after updating and auto-reboot the display started flickering. Does anyone know how to fix that?

I had a BIOS version from 2015 (when loaded had a black screen and the white word Lenovo), and now it has a black background, a red label with the white word Lenovo. The flickering happens during BIOS logo load and in BIOS menu as well.

External monitor connected via HDMI works without flickering. The internal display was not damaged in any way, flickering started right after the BIOS successful update.

The laptop worked fine until I decided to update the drivers. I went to https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ and the laptop model was automatically recognized - Thinkpad e460 (Type 20ET)

Re:Display flickering after updating BIOS

Hello rombat,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

I understand that the display is flickering after the BIOS update on your ThinkPad E460 (20ET).
Kindly try reloading the BIOS default settings, be sure to save.
Is it BIOS version 1.44 that you installed?
Best to update the drivers and firmware (specially Power Management, Software and utilities, and Chipset) from the support site as well.
Once done power off the laptop for a few minutes.
Turn it on and test. Observe and update us how it goes.
