Re: E430 Dolby Advanced Audio Issue

2012-10-12, 7:24 AM

Hi, just bought my E430 last Friday, updated with LSC and now have the same issue. I manually downloaded the latest Conexant driver from the support site, and that took care of the SAII Command line issue, but the Dolbay Audio issue remains. Talking with tech at Lenovo, no one seems to have any idea of the issue, despite being guided to this and several other posts concerning the Dolby problem...several hours on the phone with Lenovo, mostly on hold, no resolution- VERY frustrating

I had same problem and did this;

Uninstalling the Conexant HD Audio driver, restarted my computer ... Then i downloaded the driver from; http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS028630 and installed it. Then my Dolby Audio works! :)

Re: E430 Dolby Advanced Audio Issue

Same problem, same error messag, on an e430: After updating using the "system update" tool, i get the Dolby startup error.

I've used the Connexant Audio Driver - 8.54.42.0 - 24 Jul 2012 - h0a110ww.exe file linked to above manually, after uninstalling from Programs, after uninstaling from device manager (from properties, or right click uninstall).

Windows always then installs some fall back driver (which Dolby then says that no driver was found and to restart or reinstall the driver).

I can't think of any alternate way of following any of the instructions listed in the these forums, and all of them fail.

Is there some way of stopping Windows from installing it's driver? I tried disabling and it still found something. Also I tried to move those alternate driver files, but i don't have permission.

Lastly, is there a way of getting the driver that shipped with the laptop in the first place?

Okay, brain wave on getting the originally shipped driver back:

Firstly, I uninstalled the updated conexant driver via device manager, right clicking and uninstall (ticking the delete option).

Secondly, after rebooting and Windows having failed back to whatever it thought was best, in device manager elected to update and browsed to c:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Audio\W7-64 , it installed something which has the exact same name as the updated driver, but after agreeing to it's reboot request, Dolby no loads in all it's hideous blue glory.

Re: E530 Dolby Advanced Audio Issue

2012-10-28, 5:01 AM

Hi, I have a new E530 (3 weeks old) and I have just upgraded to Windows 8, 64 bit from the factory installed Windows 7HP 64 bit. Most things seemed to work ok, but now the Dolby audio driver problem is happening for me too.. At first, I couldn't play any audible music so I visited Lenovo support and selected my system details and found the driver which I then installed which the system reported as "successful". Now every time I have to reboot or turn on the pc, I get almost the same dialog box, with a slightly different driver version to most people, stating that...  "The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.14 and the software application expects driver version 7.2.7000.11. Please install a valid driver and software application combination".  I'm still struggling a bit, getting the hang of Windows 8 and can't see what I should do now? Any help out there please?

Hi again, well I tried (yet again) the method along the lines suggested by user "olephb" above, and great news it all now seems good! Thanks very much for that.

Re: E530 Dolby Advanced Audio Issue

I've got a same error after updating on my E530.

My solution is to get back to original driver(factory default)

1. uninstall conexant HD HD Audio from control panel > programs and features

2. if you have not deleted the folder which comes from factory default ( all drivers are in here), run this;

C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\Audio\setup.exe.

*if have deleted , i'm not sure but i think in the recovery discs, you can find the same one .

go to device manager and look inside the "conexant......" driver details. you could see that 7.2.7000.11 is installed.

Hope this will help others whom having same problem

Same here on a E530. I had System Update installed, version 5 is available. Why doesn't it check for updates for itself?

Hi, I think you can solve like this. At least I successfully did it in my Thinkpad T430s laptop.

1. uninstall your Realtek driver (for me it is version 6.0.1. 6710)

2. install another much older Realtek version 6.0.1. 6602, You can find this on Lenovo website:

    http://support.lenovo.com/en_CA/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS030646&rss=true

Do not care about its description and compatiability with your thinkpad version. It says it is designed for ThinkCentre

M72e, M78. You just download and run...

3. Restart your laptop, and install Dolby Advance Audio v2. Then you are done.

So far, I only find that Realtek 6.0.1.6602 works perfect with Dolby Advanced Audio v2 (maybe also the Home Theater v4). Other versions may also be good but I didn't try.

Hey Everyone,

Others have posted that if you go though control panel > programs and delete the conexant HD driver it will then allow you to load the new driver without issue. I have tried this on my E530 and still get the error if others could try this and let us know if it works It would be great.

Best Regards,

Hiro

Hi, Hiro, I have a suggestion for this problem. If it works and then maybe you can distribute the solution to other customers with the same problem. At least I successfully did it in my Thinkpad T430s laptop.

I just tried, and found that Realtek 6.0.1.6602 also worked perfect with Dolby Home Theater v4, which I personally though had a better sound quality in my computer.
