Re: E560 arrow keys enter numbers when scrolling in Excel

2016-03-30, 4:33 AM

I have the same exact issue. The issue is not limited to MS Excel, it happens regardless of what software you are using. Well.. it just happened while typing this reply! (MS Edge) Number of my colleagues using E560 have the same issue! Hoping to find a resolution.

What I have found so far:
1) Holding any keys on the keyboard are laggy to begin with.
2) Holding the arrow keys are laggy and intermittently types numbers when releasing keys.
3) It intermittently types numbers only when NumLock is active.
4) Arrow keys I am referring to are NOT the ones in the number pad with NumLock inactive. They are the actual arrow keys below the right Shift key
5) With NumLock inactive, keys are still laggy, but press, hold and releasing arrow keys do not type numbers.
6) Sometimes everything seems to work fine, but not for long. I notice it works, try it at notepad or empty Excel sheet, it comes back in less than a minute or two.
7) This whole thing NEVER happens when using external USB keyboard!

This issue is very annoying and can cause serious problems for software engineers who type actual codes!

My IT department has been contacting the vendor but hasn't got any update so far.
I requested Lenovo's tech support earlier today - website said an engineer will call me in 2 minutes, now it's been almost an hour but I haven't got called by anyone yet..

Thanks for letting me know there was a larger thread on this issue. Is there any E460/E560 user who does NOT have this issue? If there is please reply and give us some info!

No problem mate... hope somebody will answer on this. I was able to try another e460 from shop and i got sameproblem. Also with clean installation, no drivers included by lenovo i got this same problem....

There is a bit workaround. You can in your keyboard settings set your repeat trigger to very slow. In this case this wont happen to often, however, when you wanna for example hold backspace to delete some word, it will take fking huge load of time to react...

Problem still exists, Lenovo not doing anything about it?

I can 'solve' it by disabling 'sticky key's' but thats not the way it should be.

This option already was disabled in my system. Enabling it also didn't fix the problem. It doesn't look like it made any difference, sadly.
