@Xepter: Your problem... I haven't any problems with Windows on this device excepting of the buggy drivers Lenovo offers. But it's not Microsoft's fault.

This isn't just "my problem". A great deal of people buy Thinkpads because of their excellent support for Linux (though I've failed to see it for this laptop) and may not be using Windows for a many number of reasons. The fact that Lenovo has a bootable BIOS update utility (which is what is currently failing and admittedly says Windows 10) and that they have joined the Linux Vendor Firmware Service means that customers should not have to reinstall Windows Spyware just to update the BIOS. This is compounded by the fact that this keyboard issue should not be happening at all in a consumer device.

Is there an option in bios to enable downgrading? That might help.

The change log for 1.32 says:

”[New functions or enhancements] Nothing. [Problem fixes] Nothing.”

Maybe Lenovo isn’t the company I think they are.

@Xepter, I'm only running Linux as well. I don't know how you created your boot media but I did it with Geteltorito without any issue.
$ geteltorito.pl -o boot.img <image>.iso
$ dd if=boot.img of=sdX bs=512K

Windows Spyware... Lol

Not really the place for this discussion.. but in a way yes.  If software was tracking your browsing history, location, searches, etc.. you'd call it spyware.  Windows 10 does all of that by default.. but because it's coming from Microsoft and not a third party, people give it a pass.  It's a matter of perspective.  On top of that, preinstalling junk like Candy Crush and puttings advertisements inside the OS is just a disgusting practice.. and again, if third party software did this, you'd consider it adware.  But it's MS doing it.. so again people give it a pass.  Many of us moved away from Windows to take back privacy and control of the most private and personal devices we own.  No fault in that.

And to stay on topic, the new BIOS seemed to fix my problem on my E585!  Thanks Andy/Lenovo.  Further testing will be needed but so far so good, no jumbled characters.

Where's the problem? I haven't something secret on my computer and Linux also spies when you install proprietary software like Google chrome or use Google as search engine.

It's overvalued...
