Re: E530 - pulsing/whiny fan @ no/low load

2013-06-30, 22:00 PM

Losing another customer here. Going to return this one and not buying Lenovo ever again. Cannot do any work on it because its always pulsing and that is seriously annoying. Also warned my friends that Lenovo is not one of those "good brands" anymore. More than a year and still not solving problem that is on every other machine? Lenovo droped to the same level as Acer. Don't see any reason to support brands that laugh at their customers.

The newest bios solves the pulsing, or are you one of those for whom it does not work? If that's the case, then... well, that sucks. I would wish you luck in finding a replacement machine that you can be happy with if that's the case.

Hi Mark,

It's about one month since your last post here, can you make a short announcement about the progress?

Is there any developer working on this issue (I mean that the fan running continuously on a high level and never stop)?

Lukas

So in the end I decided to return the laptop - I would say the fan is really quiet under load (in comparsion with other laptops) but it spins with almost the same speed in idle which is annoying after some time. It's a pitty, with TPFan support it would have been a great choice in the price range.

Hi,

i have the same problem with my E530. I am very disapointed about it. You spend a lot of

money for it and get a defect product with bad support. The only thing i will do is never

buy a Thinkpad again if nothing happen.

I can´t return it because i formate the restore partition (with win8, the last thing i want

to do is to restore it). And the store where i buy it tell me the fan-controll is not a reason

for return it as defect because there is no recall campaign from Lenovo.

If there fixe the fan controll it is the perfect laptop for me, i am use it. for study. After updating

the last bios version the pulsing stoped, fan still running without stop.

Sorry for my terrible english and greetings from germany

If you've bought it through an internet shop, you can return it > Fernabsatzgesetz.

The store should be able to restore the recovery partition or a Lenovo service point will.

PS: The fan behavior is much better than before, so I think there is not a huge reason to return the device anymore.

Oh, dear!

If you have the opportunity to return it, you should obviously try to do so!

Nobody from Lenovo writes in this thread.

This thread doesn't exist.

In neighbor threads there are Lenovo representatives writing and answering to people.

BUT NOBODY'S HERE!!!

Or am I wrong???

Somebody from Lenovo, REVEAL YOURSELF!!!

Hi,

i installed the update yesterday. It is better than before, the pulsing stoped.

But it is still louder than my other Thinkpad. And i buyed in an internet shop,

they tell me it is a impairment to delet the restore parition, if i return it i have to pay for it.

The pulsing was realy anoying. I will not return it anymore but i am wondering

that lenovo sell it without update.
