Install Windows 7 Home Premium x64on another machine

2010-12-14, 15:10 PM

I want to wipe W7 Home Premium x64 from my Thinkpad Edge 14 and install it on another machine.  I will be putting XP Pro back on the Thinkpad Edge 14.  I expect delivery of my new Thinkpad Edge 14 any day now.  Will there be individual W7 HP x64 discs that come with this laptop?  If not, what is the best way to load W7 HP x64 on my other machine with the product 'key' from the Thinkpad Edge 14?  Is there a way to load W7 HP x64 from the recovery disc to another machine without the Lenovo 'bloat' (apps, theme, etc....)?

Thanks for your help!!!

Kyle

If the thinkpad is delivered with an OEM Windows license it would not be legal to use this license on an other machine.

your machine won't come with discs. there is an option within windows to make one set of recovery discs for your machine. and those discs  will only work on your particular machine.  even if it was legal to use that disc and key on another machine, (which it isn't)  the hardware differences and chipset differences would not allow it to work.
