Lenovo Battery Firmware Update Utility (Thinkpad Edge 14)

2012-02-12, 11:36 AM

My Thinkpad Edge 14 battery (about 18 months old) is only operating at 50% capacity.

The recent battery fimware update (http://206.17.82.2/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS001322) does not list my battery (p/n 42T4755) . Any ideas for me?

Thanks!

As your battery FRU number is mentioned in the firmware update list, so you battery model is not effected with this issue.

You can perform the calibration process to increase the battery backup and also update the BIOS.

Tanuj

Please charge your battery complete then use and discharge completely.

Do this process for at least 3 times and check the difference.

Hi All,

Perform gauge reset may help. Give it a try too. It will do the same like tanujhanda suggested above as well: charge - discharge - recharge.

Note: make sure AC adapter plug in when perfoming gauge reset.

How to perform the reset? Go to Power Manager > Battery tab > Battery Maintenance.

You should be seeing this image below to look for the reset button.

Refer to this knowledgebase article will help.

Cleo
