Re:Lenovo E14 Gen2 ( Intel ) - coil whine

2021-09-03, 21:26 PM

Coil whine is the result of electronic components vibrating at specific frequencies when current flows through these components, resulting in an audible tone that can be perceptible to the human ear.

The symptoms may be more pronounced in products with high-end graphic chips and maybe more perceptible when operating the product in a quiet environment.

This is not a hardware defect. The product is operating within specification and within the acoustic tolerance for the level of sound emitted by the product during regular operation.

No impact on the performance of the product exists.

No impact on the performance of the product, maybe.

However, there certainly is an impact on the user performing and using the product. And quite possibly an impact regarding future purchasing choices.

Another E14 gen2 (i5) here, the sound is annoying to say the least.

If you feel that the noise is something not usual for you, then it may be best to consult your technical support group in your region.

Hi,

is anyone noticing coil whine when you move the mouse pointer across the desktop, or on any program?

This is happening beside the louder coil whine during the standby.
