Lenovo E14 System Crash - 04-19-2022

We have few Lenovo E14 Gen2 that suddenly experiencing random system crash after an hour or 2. 

The issue started to show up on 04-19-2022. Not sure what is causing it but we are seeking assistance to get it fix as the affected devices are slowly increasing. 

The affected devices started at 2 only and it is slowly increasing. We have reviewed the dmp file/s and all of the devices are getting the same dmp output.

Behavior of the issue are  all office apps are crashing, during calls the backscreen and lagging occurs.

Any changes made before the issue came up? Are you using a custom OS or company image OS? Could you provide the OS version, BIOS version and the machine type model or MTM(ex: 10VG0005CA)?

This would help us get the model variant details while keeping the confidentiality of the serial number.

Try running a hardware scan from the Lenovo Vantage app to check for possible hardware failure.

Thanks for responding. See my response below. 1. Any changes made before the issue came up? All we know there is a patching happened last Tuesday (12-04-2022) but in our environment it kicked in on the 3rd (26th of April) week Tuesday.

4. Try running a hardware scan from the Lenovo Vantage app to check for possible hardware failure.

We have tried running Lenovo Diagnostic tool but it didn't get any errors and the issue did not only occur on one device, but 8 devices, 7 in PH and 1 in SG which are now currently affected by this issue have the same above-mentioned MTMs. Today I troubleshoot again in one of the devices and I found out that all of its resources are reaching the max threshold. At first, we thought memory is the only affected resource.

Hope the above details suffice to attend to this concern and we will highly appreciate a quick response on this.

Try running the System File Checker to fix corrupted system files.  Type sfc /scannow on the command prompt and hit enter . Make sure you are running as admin.

Good afternoon 

We have the same problem. all updates through Lenovo Vantage are done. We used OEM image. Cpu, Disk and Memory are closed to 100%. We have cases where there is a drop in performance during the day and in other cases after taking the computer out of lock after lunch. 

they freze and he have to turn off in the power button manually.

All these reports started about 2 weeks ago.

we are tested now the sfc /scannow.

I Attach some DUMP´s from the laptops affected.

We have the same problem in 10 machines. The RAM maxed on and finally it crash.

 

Our last test: we unistall the Lenovo Vantage and lenovo.modern.IMControler, we are waiting results.

I am Emmanweng the one who originally post this for some reason my first lenovo is having issue... anyway I did the above tips by Jwez but it didnt fix the issue. I also did the following troubleshooting steps but it didnt help me fix the issue.

1. Rollback drivers

2. Update drivers thru WSUS (online) and Lenovo 

3. Run sfc and DISM

4. Set standby mode to S3 (default S0) applied this based on the dmp result PDC_Watchdog_timeout that i have posted  

5. Adjust GPU settings apps like teams, chrome and  etc.. 

The weird part of this issue is even the user device is idle the device resources usage are still slowly increasing.

If Lenovo moderm imctroller used top-1 memory size on your system, please download the log tool from below link, double click to run the tool and then find logs in C:\programdata\lenovo\Modern\Logs.  (Please unhide programdata folder if you cannot find it under C drive).
