Operating System Not found!

2010-08-12, 3:24 AM

Ok, I just bought a Thinkpad Edge 14, and it was working fine all day, now all of a sudden it crashed and says Operating System not found. Wtf, i have a warranty on this but seriously this is ridiculous. What can I do?

The same thing happened to me.

I'm suspect to believe it has something to do with the HDD Airbag shock reduction which will stop your HDD every time it detects a Light / Medium / Hard "shock" (depending on what setting you have it on, although default is High Sensitivity).

I mean think about it, the HDD is constantly turned on and off and on and off and on and off, even from moderate typing on ones own lap it will do this, I went through TWO HDDs.

Although then again, it could be a Mobo issue; as is I have had it replaced at a local ThinkPad repair center and have yet to see any complications, although they did manage to ruin the already dim backlit keyboard by having it not be on at all.
