It works on Windows 10 after installing the drivers via Windows Update (or whatever you call this in English).

On Linux, only Wifi works. Bluetooth doesn't work on Linux because of a firmware load issue. I'm using Kde Neon (18.04) and I can't make it load the Bluetooth firmware no matter what I try (and I've tried it all).

Thanks Chicurrichi

I also bought the card on a whim and can confirm the above. Please let me know if you have any success getting it to work.

Do you know of a better card that will work?

Will it work with Intel Wireless 9560NGWG AC 9560? That's a newer card from Intel.

Is there an open bug for this?

I'm sure the card will work fine in windows, but I'm unsure about Linux.

but for $24 it can't hurt to try

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1730Mbps-Intel-9560NGW-NGFF-Wireless-AC-Dual-Band-BT5-0-NGFF-M-2-CNVI-WiFi-Card/183187787599?hash=item2aa6d7cf4f:g:P~kAAOSwC4Va2bW2:rk:2:pf:1&frcectupt=true

I'd also be interested.

Thanks! I'm just collecting the info :) I'm interested in getting E485, but after the refresh for Ryzen APUs from second generation (3000 series) which I suppose should happen soon, since Lenovo started discounting their current Ryzen options. It should help improve thermals and also avoid this nasty bugger that affects many first generation Ryzen chips:  https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=196683

I was bitten by that on the desktop, until upgrading to Zen+ (Ryzen 2). So I'd rather avoid the same mess in the laptops :)

Re: Replace WiFi card in E485

Bluetooth is working on KDE Neon with kernel 4.18.0-14-generic (package linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04), but it's still buggy.

This is what I do to make it work:

1. Edit the file /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf. Mine only contains this line:

options iwlifi bt_coex_active=1

2. Edit the line which starts with "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX" file /etc/default/grub like this:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="ivrs_ioapic[32]=00:14.0 ivrs_ioapic[33]=00:00.1 iommu=soft pcie_aspm=off amdgpu.dc=1 amdgpu.aspm=0"

3. Then, update grub settings with this command:

sudo update-grub

4. Reboot and turn it on again.

5. Put it to sleep (just close the lid)

6. Wake it up (open the lid and push the start button)

7. Delete btusb module from memory and load it again with this command:

sudo rmmod btusb ; sudo sleep 1 ; sudo modprobe btusb

We only have to repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 whenever I turn my laptop off.

And it's working now. I hope this is useful for you.
