Re: Scroll lock key turning on and turning off

2013-09-19, 7:01 AM

The new silkscreening on new model ThinkPads do not list four keyboard shortcut functions (Break, SysRq, ScrLK, Pause). The embedded keypad functionality has been removed from the T430, T430s and T530 systems. Thus, the older T42x and T52x keyboard styles will not fit the newer T43x and T53x systems.

If you would like to use those function keys, you can refer to below:

Break (FN + B)

SysRq (FN + S)

ScrLK (FN + K)

Pause (FN + P)

Lenovo Carbon X1 with Win 8.1

Fn+K toggles Scroll Lock on/off; no indication on screen though.

Merci Beaucoup! Quite helpful... may we all just remember and store it rather than having to always look up... "how do I do that again???" :-)

Why does Lenovo do these crazy things with their function keys? Last one I'll buy.

Just as a hint, keys can be made to send basically any other commands, keys or events with AutoHotkey:

http://www.autohotkey.com

It has its own scripting language basically, so there is a learning curve.

Re: Scroll lock key

The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge laptops do not have a Scroll Lock Key.

As one user pointed out, you can use (Fn + C) to toggle scroll lock.

However, on some laptops, you must use (Fn + Shift + C) to toggle scroll lock.

I've also read that other Lenovo laptops use Fn + K.

That said, if you're like me and stuck not knowing how to turn off Scroll Lock, try using either Fn + C or Fn+Shift+C, if that doesn't work, try Fn+K or even Fn+Shift+K.

(Fn meaning the Function key by the way).

Hope this helps!
