Re: Sleep problems with my Thinkpad Edge e125

i have selected everything thinkvantage system update had to offer (in all tabs, including optional). but i have not installed anything through windows own update, i installed only the windows packages that lenovo system update downloaded for me. that is why i asked you to first uninstall any windows update/hot fix you may have, before running thinkvantage system update.

Re: Sleep problems with my Thinkpad Edge e125

i have a similar Problem. On Win7 it works fine, but with win XP i have some Issues.
At first i don't want Standby, i use the Power-Button to go Hibernating-Mode. Most time this works, sometimes (don't knwo why) it doesen't. Then the Notebook gos Standby and not Hibernate. If in Standby it doesen't wake up, have to switch off and restart.
I have the Edge E320 with Win7 and Win XP (different partitions).

Some one knows how to handle?

i tried service pack 1 for windows 7 and could reproduce the power button performing restart issue...

i think that currently there is no solution available for this problem (from microsoft or lenovo), which might be related to the wireless hardware installed on this machine.

i found the following generic workaround on a dell forum, which seems to work for me:

" Open Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, and double click on entry for your wireless adapter. When the new window opens, click on the Power Management tab, and UNCHECK "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". "OK" your way out, and reboot. Sleep should now work properly."

try it and share if it works for you too...
