ThinkPad E15 gen2, after unplugging the power plug -> BSOD Critical Process Died

ThinkPad E15 gen2, 20TD00GNPB, Win11, 32GB, SSD 1T

a month ago I purchased the E15, win11 is installed default and overclocked settings (32GB, SSD 1T) -> to work with large amounts of data.

the first disappointment is that the system crash several times a day -> BSOD with various messages.

the second disappointment is that after disconnecting the power and switching to battery operation, the system crash in 1-5 minutes -> BSOD Critical Process Died.

here is another curiosity -> after 1 hour of battery life (yes, I insisted and every 5 minutes I reset the laptop by changing various settings to eliminate errors) the battery level was at 50% (it should 7 hours).

systematically updated drivers (Vantage + Intel Driver Support + Windows).

hardware tests from BIOS -> OK

sfc / scannow -> OK

in the first case, I am able to understand that win11 is underdeveloped and will crash sometimes, but do you have any cases where you immediately have a BSOD after disconnecting the power charge plug?

- a problem with windows11?

- laptop problem?

- power control system?

is E15 gen2 on win10 working stably?

Re:ThinkPad E15 gen2, after unplugging the power plug -> BSOD Critical Process Died

Hello rafal_!

Greetings!

Just to make sure, after installing all the updates from the Vantage app, is everything working fine now? Did you also run the hardware test from the Lenovo Vantage app?

If you already have the updated BIOS version 1.46, manually install the Power Management Driver and the Power and Battery Driver below and see how it goes: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-e15-gen-2-type-20td-20te/20td/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Power%20Management

Windows 11 is quite new so we do not expect it to be running perfectly fine and here is a related link: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-1xx-3xx-5xx-7xx-Edge-LaVie-Z-Flex-Laptops/Critical-Process-Died-when-unplugging-charger/m-p/5141566

Re:ThinkPad E15 gen2, after unplugging the power plug -> BSOD Critical Process Died

Hello Jwes!

Thank you for your answer.

I have BIOS version 1.47. Do you recommend downgrade to 1.46?

I install the Power Management Driver and the Power and Battery Driver according you recommendation.

On battery powery:

- no BSOD error

- stres test Prime95 -> OK

- battery work time sugest on 100% -> 2h, on 80% 5h -> surprise

- quick Vantage test -> OK, when finished -> BSOD kernel_data_inpage_error

- full Vantage test -> BSOD kernel_data_inpage_error during memmory test

- diagnostic UEFI memmory test -> OK

Definitely Win11 probems and drivers. I will check system in next days.

Thanks and best regards

Rafal

The updated version on the support page is version 1.46. You may want to observe it for now.
Before downgrading, kindly consult the tech support team in your region before proceeding because there is a possibility of bricking the system.

Feel free to update us at your most convenient time.

Regards
