ThinkPad E520 system restore

2016-08-19, 21:51 PM

Hi, looking for some help here.

So my computer was running slow, and for various reasons I decided I needed to wipe it clean. I've gone through the system restore procedure but now I've turned it on and I have BASIC functionality, I can't get anywhere past that. It says in the system properties that Windows IS installed though. I tried to install Intel's wireless driver (Windows told me no network adapter could be found) yet the installation cannot be completed because apparently I already have the old Intel driver installed. When trying to delete the old programme I get a message saying that this cannot be completed.

Unfortunately I do not possess the original disc which came with the laptop. Do I need to buy a new Windows 7 disc and install from there? Or do I need to download drivers etc. online and install via a usb stick? And if so which? Please help

Thanks to anyone with any useful advice in advance
