Thinkpad E590 and HDD Drive Quick Formatted Recovery

2020-01-06, 4:05 AM

I did a quick format on my 1TB  HD and I tried to recover my data using a lot of recovery toolds like:

1- EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard

2- Ontrack® EasyRecovery™ Professional for Windows

3- M3 Data Recovery

4- Recuva

5- Remo Recover

and more but no valuable file/folders from my old data appeared at all.

Is there something/ suggestion to recover my data?

Keep in mind that the drive is still empty and I did not use it yet since formatted.

If all those software does not work. Then your files are properly gone forever.

I wonder because it was a quick format action not Full or Low-Level formatting.

The concept for quick Formatting is just recreating the file directory info and makes the drive space show as empty. But the data area is actually not touched or damaged.

For these type of situations, I'm using two applications:

These scans could take hours or days, so please be patient.

Also by any means, DO NOT USE your disk until you recover your data. If you already reinstalled OS on it, then you lost already a lot of data from it.

My Laptop (Thinkpad E590) has dual HDs (512 GB SSD and 1TB FullHD), my OS installed on SSD drive and the formatted one was the 1TB FullHD drive.

I didn't reuse/write any data on that drive yet.
