2013-05-13, 17:52 PM

Hi,

I have experienced the same problem since the last update yesterday.... thanks to lenovo system update my edge 520 is **bleep** now. I tried using old ultranav driver, reinstall new drivers....and then even a win7 factory recovery. nothing worked out. right now it is better ( before I had no controll of mouse, trackpoint and keyboard.

right now it works until the first standby break......Did anyone try a clean installation?

How do i get a Win 7 DVD for a clean installation?

I notice with my E430 the the touchpad was not allowing me to navigate the cursor very well. I could not get it to stay on a area. For example when I wanted to close a Windows I would navigate to the "X" but the cursor would not stay on the "X". Very jittery is the best way to describe it. I did all the lenovo updates and unfortuantely I have to send mine in for yet another issues with a thermo sensor error. I have had more issues with this laptop from having to replace the battery, to fan errors, thermo sensor error for CPU, keyboard loses function of certain keys intermittently. For a professional laptop this one has got its share of issues for me.

ThinkPad Edge E420, Win7 64-bit, IE 10

I've forgotten about this topic for the last 6-7 months, but unfortunately noticed a new Synaptics UltraNav Driver v16.2.19.9 on the download site and thought I would try it...........

My UltraNav settings do not hold after a re-boot.  I disable my touchpad and just use the touchstick.  The last version that works and holds my settings is Synaptics UltraNav Driver v16.1.1.0 which I just re-installed.  I don't think I will be trying any more new UltraNav drivers.  v16.1.1.0 works in every way, and holds my settings!!!

I hate the touch pad. I wanted to disable it but the manuel said control pannel then Hardware/sound There is no Hardware/sound in control pannel. So I smacked it. I broke the harddrive under it. I got a new harddrive and found out the the recovery disk I made when I got the computer would not work. I called and they told me I was 2 month out of warranty so I have to pay $50 to get a disk that will work. Just say NO to lenovo. I had a harddisk fail and tried to use the recovery disk I made when I got the E530. I did not work properly. It started and the then asked for another disk. So if you made the disk you should check it out. I dont know how you would test it except with a new harddrive. Do it before you are out of warranty. They want $50 for there mistake. This is no IBM. There whole web site is a scam. Just dont go there. I had no fan issue with mine but the graphic cant display CAD drawing well. That touch pad sucks when typing. There is no way to disable it. $300 or less is what you should pay. junk. Fine if you watch netflix

NO MORE LENONO STINKPAD FOR ME, this kind of crAPP is a waste of my time. When thing are done right this is not much of a problem. Lenono is not doing it right and then they scam you. CrAPP APP APP

I have to say that I have problems with the touchpad too.

My E530 is 7 months old, but after 5 months the touchpad had lost its texture, and the 'buttons'  (bottom corners) are sometimes unresponsive. It feels like a 3 year old heavily used laptop, not new.

I don't think this is normal wear and tear.

I used to have many problems with my touchpad. But I have the AMD A8 and only a single DIMM or 2gb ram. I soon realised that this isn't enough. It needs minimum 4gb. The computer gets unresponsive all the time, and the touchpad takes the hit. Clicking on links, moving scrolling sometimes just don't respond. I have recently managed to buy 8gb of ram (4x2) and my Lenovo is singing.

I did a lot of research online and I found out that computers still prefer to have both dimms filled. It is better to have 2x2 and a single 4. The computer just seems to work better. In fact I think Lenovo should have tested this and not even offered the laptop with less than 4gb.

My problem is my touchpad setting seem to reset. I can't pinpoint when. It's either when I restart the computer or its when I update the drivers or both. Either way it should happen. It is getting annoying.

Re: Touchpad

I had this problem too. My laptop is a E420. This started happened after upgrading to windows 8.1. The touchpad would randomly start and stop, you can't scroll, move or click for several minutes but everything else is fine.

I did fine out what the problem is, I think. Lenevo support page failed to update/upload the latest version of the driver. Since it was time anyways I reformatted my laptop and let Windows do all the driver installation, no Lenovo driver crap. Everything seems to be working with the touchpad now.
