Volume, brightness, and capslock on-screen indicators gone

2010-11-20, 6:09 AM

I have had my Edge 14 for about 2 months now.  About 2 weeks ago, the on -screen indicators for the volume, brightness, and caps lock stopped working.  I have been unable to find a fix in the display settings, manual, or forum.  Any help would be appreciated.

I can not find out how to enable it in the display properties.  I does not seem to be a Windows feature but rather a Lenovo Edge feature.

I am using Win 7-64 bit.

Thanks

Do start --> run --> msconfig and choose tab startup.

Do you see "On screen display" and is it enabled?

(When TPOSDSVC.exe is not running you won't  see the on-screen indicators.)

Thank you all for your help.  I remembered deleting a file thinking I was deleting an unwanted gadget.  Had I not followed your directions, I would not have realized it was my actions that caused the problem.

Thank you much.
