Issue 1:
I installed 8gb (2x4gb) 1066mhz ram from Corsair in my Edge 13, when I do this it says in
When I look in: Control Panel > System and Security > System > Installed Memory (RAM) > 8gb (3,75gb usable).
So only 4gb is useable and the 256mb is reserved as video ram.
Then I look in Resource Monitor > Memory > There is 4,3gb hardware reserved (so this is all wasted memory)
What I tried:
Issue 2:
The ram speed is 1066mhz, but because its DDR to get real speed have to divide by 2 so should be 533mhz. But my ram only runs at 400mhz according to CPU-Z program. Even during benchmarks when CPU runs at highest speed of 1,8ghz (In power save mode CPU runs at 800mhz) ram stays at 400mhz. Is this correct? If anyone with an Edge 13 could post a screenshot of his CPU-Z would be appreciated.
I have this with the original 2gb ram and with the 8gb ram.
Question: is there a way to assign more ram to video ram? Like 512mb. Probably not gonna increase performance much if at all, just curious of its possible.

With 8gb only 3,75 usable.

4,3gb hardware reserved with 8gb ![]()

Is this correct ram only running at 400mhz? Shouldnt it be 533mhz?
.

.

With 6gb the correct amount is hardware reserved for the videoram

Yes I have 64-bit Windows Home premium I even checked if it might be a memory limitation of home premium but that is 16gb. (Because I knew Windows Starter only supports 2gb, and Basic only 4gb)
And 6gb works but not 8gb

ISTR quite a few posts mentioning problems with ThinkPads and Corsair memory. The consensus was that Crucial was a better choice, and perhaps other mfgrs as well. I don't recall that the symptoms were what you describe - particularly not the massive reserved memory.
I'm not saying that this is a Corsair issue, just that it might be. Do you have access to some other mfgr's RAM that you can test with?

Isn't the max installable memory for the Edge 13 AMD, only 4 GB? Maybe this could be why it doesn't work properly?
