After installing of Battery Firmware Update my brand new battery not recognized by notebook anymore.
It is completely dead. I am fully upsert.
So, people, do not use this app if everything is fine. Application is not stable.
Laptop: ThinkPad E420
BIOS: 8HET44WW(1.26) - Latest
Operating System: Windows 10.
Power Management Driver: 22.214.171.124 -Latest
Battery Firmware Update Utility: 1.15 -Latest
Battery Model: FRU 42T4799 - (9cell, 55++, T410, E520, E420, T510...) - Original, Fully compatible.
Seems like internal battery memory was corrupted due to flashing interruption.
I assumed the root cause is internal software error.
I've tried the same on Windows 7/8/XP with all LnvBFU revisions (from v1.2 till v1.15) without any success.
But LnvBFU.exe still recognizes the battery, it still able to start flashing.
And I still have hope to install battery software correctly.
Dear Lenovo experts:
1. Please provide steps to correct this error.
2. Please advise how can I get logs of LnvBFU to figure out what's wrong.
3. Please fix this issue in the next LnvBFU revision.

I have a comparable problem over here. Got a brand new Lenovo Yoga 260 three weeks ago, worked completely fine until last wednesday. Processed some lenovo updates including Lenovo Solution Centre and Power Management and now my battery is dead.
Everytime i turn on my Yoga 260 i get a battery error message after a few minutes that says the battery is not charging and it should be replaced due to a bad condition.
When i open up Lenovo Settings and search for energymanagement it displays the same message telling me the battery is defect due to normal wear and it should be replaced. My problem is that the battery worked completely fine until the moment i installed some Lenovo software updates.
I hope lenovo support can provide steps to correct this error instead of forcing me to return it and wait 2 -3 weeks.
