I'm thinking of a similar upgrade and while Ivy M is going to run on the same socket at Sandy M, support is going to be based on a BIOS update. It's pretty much assured for most desktop MoBo's but it's a little unclear if laptop manufacturers are going to follow the same path. I hope they Lenovo does, I'd love to get an i5-3320 M in my E420.

I'd love to try the update too, won't make it with the money probably.
Anyway, worth noting, once upgraded, that HD 4000 will be almost as fast as HD6630M some of us have.
It's even more probable with desgignated Ivy Bridge notebook with faster RAM.

The edge 430 looks similar to the 420 except for upgraded hardware, I don't see why a bios update wouldn't come.
Other than that will you just be able to switch it out or will it be more labored?
