Just a got a brand new Thinkpad 540-E. So far this CPU runs like a beast(with a new SSD installed). I have one minor issue though...
GOAL:: Make the F1-F12 keys function without having to press Fn first.
So I've tried the three tips I've come across online. Here is what happens:
1. BIOS(ThinkpadSetup): I only get the option to switch the Fn and Ctrl key. There are no option in my BIOS to do anything else with the keyboard/mouse settings.
2. Holding down the Fn key for 30 sec to 1 minute: Nothing happens. I even tried to do a three minute press and hold. I had a blast, but nothing came out of that neither.
3. Entering the keyboard settings in Win 7 manually: So I have no trouble entering the keyboard settings window, but mine looks extreemly limited. I don't see any options looking similar to what I see suggested on this forum. In fact I see no options to do anything in there besides updating the driver.
I hope you guys can help me out! Thanks a lot:-)
