I have a Thinkpad E595. I don't use the camera and microphone so I want to disable them completely.
But if I disable the Microphone in BIOS (security -> I/O), the computer crashes (blue screen) within minutes after launching Windows (in most cases even before I have the time to login).
Error code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
What failed: CHDRT64LPAP.sys (<< this is part of the synaptics/conexant HD Audio driver and is located in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers)
If I re-enable the Microphone in BIOS, the problem disappears.
I tried with all available BIOS and drivers versions, but this makes no difference.
Anyone willing to test on their Thinkpad (E595 or E495) if they have the same issue? Maybe other Thinkpads models have the same problem too?
Or anyone knows how to resolve it?

Thank you very much for checking and confirming this is not just a problem with my individual laptop!
Local support told me to return my laptop for investigation, but as you will report it to the product team, I assume that is no longer needed and I can keep using my E595.

E495 product team tells me that this issue will be fixed in the next version of audio driver. But I don't know the release date yet. Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the trouble it has caused. (E495 and E595 share same drivers)
