Is it clear? What's it used for? It should be 100% silicone rubber sealant, like the stuff you would squirt around doors and windows. A hardware store should have it. Once you get some, squirt a little on a pc. of paper or cardboard and see how long it takes to dry.
That way you know when you would be able to use the computer again.

Yeah it's clear. It says on the tube "excellent insulating and sealing properties" and "ideal for potting electronic components and forming gaskets in place"
I got a lot of blank looks when asking for 100% silicone, haha, none of the tubes have ingredients listed, perhaps the scots aren't silicone purists.
It seems like just using tape isn't really going to exert much pressure, reckon using clothes pegs on top is a good idea?
