I've noticed distorted sound while playing Blacklight: Retribution. No one else seems to be complaining of it, except for one person I found who was advised to update their audio drivers; guess how I got in this predicament. I haven't noticed it without headphones, as my low sound due to Dolby being messed up makes it pointless to play without them on.

So it's been nearly two weeks since anyone from support replied to this. What's going on, Lenovo? I'm sick of having to use headphones when I don't want to, and I'm sick of not being able to use my computer for things that require the volume be as loud as it can be.

Hey Bandit1379,

Did you contact NINE and PM the information he asked for? If you did just please be patience while his team works on trying to find a resolution, if you haven't I would suggest you do.

No, I haven't yet. I don't have a Lenovo machine, I have an Acer; will my information still be useful?

Isn't it a bit strange you want Lenovo to solve an issue you have with an Acer laptop?

Sent all the details to nine, no particular response yet. I have been testing it more and more. I still have distortion and buzzing, and that is worst with the use of VLC Media Player - which might have a particular compatibility issue.

Strange to expect Lenovo to address an Acer laptop issue is an understatement! :P

how about trying to mute the mic and see whether the distortion still occurs?

Well this is the first place and seemingly only place that seems to be talking about the same issue I'm having.

Re: E430 Dolby Advanced Audio Issue

Well, I've found a fix, so I thought I'd let you all know what worked for me.

Note, I have an Acer Aspire 5755G-6823, but I'd imagine Dolby's program runs the same on different machines.

First, I uninstalled the current version of Dolby Advanced Audio using the Add or Remove Programs tool. This did not require a restart afterwards.

Then, I went to my C: file, then Program Files (x86) > Realtek > Audio > Drivers > HDADrv > Then run the Setup application. This will require a restart. After restarting, Dolby was working for me again, and my sound is back to full volume.

Good luck everyone.

Lenovo ,

How many customers have to complain in order to take any action in solving the issue with the Dolby!?
