My school district recently purchased 656 Lenovo E470s. Since the school year started, at least 15 have been turned in with what appears to be cracked displays. These laptops have not been abused and in some cases, the cracked screens were noticed after the laptop had been sitting for several days. The screens look like a small object or pencil was on the keyboard when the lid was closed, but there are absolutely no marks on the non-glare surface. These laptops have been in padded cases since day one. I've had no problem getting the screens replaced under warranty but they do take up quite a bit of my time, not to mention the logistics of the student being issued a temporary replacement (and then the original laptop being issued back). I've tried chatting and then calling tech support about my concerns but I've been brushed off both times. Has anybody else seen or heard of this issue?
