E480 m.2 sata SSD not detected

Hey, so I recently bought a thinkpad e480 with the hdd option but it was pretty slow and loud. So I bought a 500gb m.2 SSD, the crucial mx300. Now when I installed it the laptop won't detect it. I'm not sure what I should do. Any suggestions? maybe there's a bios option I could change?

Re: E480 m.2 sata SSD not detected

Hello and welcome,

From the looks of the base spec, the E480 m.2 slot supports PCIe drives.  The MX300 is a SATA drive.
