After uninstalling a program and rebooting there is no system, not even BIOS, nor safe mode.
I tried recovering C:\ partition (with two recovery programs) but there is nothing to recover. C:\ partition is absolutely empty
I have Recovery disks for e540, but it is faulty.
Fortunately I do have a copy of ...
Product Name, Product ID, Installed Key, OEM key ... and ...
OEM Edition: Win 8.1 RTM Professional OEMM . . . .
I have not a clue what Win 8.1 RTM Professional OEMM ... represents,
the PC came (new) with Win-7 PRO x64 pre-installed
Gave the e540 to local PC tech who installed a non Lenovo OEM Win-7 PRO x64 (which is same edition as original Lenovo setup.). But the install is laggy and unstable. The HDD (near new but out of warranty) is faulty, maybe the cause of my problems.
can I use a Windows 7 PRO x64 OEM to reinstall onto the Lenovo ?
I have a new internal HDD (ready) and hope I can use the product keys (above) or whatever I need to get the e540 going again

I believe a windows 7 key on a Lenovo machine will only activate with Lenovo OEM disks
