E560 screen dead in 2 years...

Hi,

As someone wrote, first of all to start I know that this is user based, but I don't know how to get in touch with actual customer support.

Suddently, half of my screen became black.

Reading in a review that it could be useless, i hesitate to change the screen...

Moreover, i just can't find the complete reference of it... My computer is 20EVCTO1WW.
Is the screen's one EC156MFHEDPLETHE560 20EV SERIESB ?

Thanks for your quick support !
Pierre

Re: E560 screen dead in 2 years...

First, did you happen to get the 3-year warranty?  If you did, don't try to fix it yourself

If you are not sure, check here:  (don't include the dash in the serial number.)

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/default.page

This sort of problem is usually the panel.  I cannot figure out which panel you have from the string you posted.  It might need to be disassembled to identify.

Re: E560 screen dead in 2 years...

Hello,

Thanks for your answer !

Unfortunately i just bought the 1 year warranty, so it has already expired...

I prefer to let it be disassembled by a professional, but i need to get the reference first to buy it before and let him install the new panel...

Thanks for your answer anyway !

You can get the resolution by right-clicking the desktop and looking at display-settings.  You may need to use an external monitor.  You can download Mininfo (freeware) which can read the configuration chip to get the name.

Re: E560 screen dead in 2 years...

I finally disassemblied it, and found on the back of the screen the same reference (LTN156HL09).

I wonder if the other screen with anoter reference would fit...

Re: E560 screen dead in 2 years...

A lot of the screens are sold as compatible but they won't be the same.  I think yours is an FHD, IPS screen with a matte finish.  "Compatible" screens may be glossy or TN.  As far as I know, yours uses the same screen used on a T560.  I believe the FRU numbers are 00HT919 and 01AW430.  The T560 also lists 00HT920 and 000HT921.  The numbers are for different manufacturers (Samsung, LG, BOE) of equivalent screens
