I just got my new ThinkPad Edge 14:
Core i3 - 370M
500 GB HD
Intel Wireless ABG
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit
The first time I started it up, and every time since, the computer does continous short/fast beeps once the Starting Windows Screen comes up. It is the black screen that just says "Starting Windows.." The beeping will stop after about 10-15 sec, then the 4 circlilng dots above the "Starting Windows" screen come up. Then windows will come up normally, and everything seems to work fine.
I have tried running the HDD test from the Bios, and it passed. I also ran the Think Vantage Hardware tests, and those came out as well. I just created recovery disks, and started installing Windows 7 from scratch, and as soon as the 2nd part of the Windows install came up, the beeping came back. Any ideas on what this could be?

that sounds like there's a key stuck. or something thinks that there's a key stuck. does it do it at shut down also or just on startup?
