Edge 530: Black screen when powering on

I just got an Edge 530. The display are black when I power it on. The workaround is to hold Fn+F1 keys. This takes me to the setup. When going out of setup the machine start as normal. Anyone who knows how to solve this?

Re: Edge 530: Black screen when powering on

Hi

Welcome To Lenovo Community

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing,

Based from what i read in your post, seems  either cmos issue or power issue

Please try the following  unplug the power, take the battery out and hold down the power button for around 60seconds. This will release any excess charge built up in the machine.

Try above steps 3 times .

Put the power back in and turn on. Click Fn + F1 to enter in to Bios, Press F9 to load setup defaults ,  press F10  to save and exit .  Now check

Do give this a try and let us know

Hope This Helps

Cheers!!!

Re: Edge 530: Black screen when powering on

No, didn't help Smiley Sad

I did actually describe the workaround wrong: I don't have to push Fn+F1. It's enough to start the machine twice.

On first time: The fan starts and the red light turns on, but the screen are totally black (no backlight, no sound, nothing)

Off: Stops immediately

On second time: Starts normally

Re: Edge 530: Black screen when powering on

Solution: Changed motherboard.

For Norwegians can I strongly recommend NorDoc (nordoc.no). I registered a ticket one evening, they called me the day after, then I delivered the laptop and got it back two days later. Very good and friendly service!
