Hi,
I would like to replace the Samsung LTN133AT20 with an IPS panel.
(Found this review , don't know if the same panel is still used)
What do I have to pay attention to regarding compatiblity?
(Besides same connector, connector position and overall size of the panel)
Kind regards, Achim

Hello
Do someone have positive (or negative) experience on upgrading screen on Lenovo E330?
Is it possible to install Yoga IPS panel in it? Or at least anything better than it own?
Thanks,
Alex.

No, haven't tried yet.
Girlfriend went for Sony Pro 13 instead.
IPS Panel is quite bad. 6/10

In the name of SCIENCE!™ I went and bought both an E330 and a Yoga display to try.
• The displays appear to be mechanically pin-compatible. I can plug the E330 display cable into the IPS display
• The LCD bezel assembly is not compatible (the IPS display is a bit wider at the bottom). I had to cut/solder/grind off some of the plastic fins on the inside of the bezel to make it fit (luckily just plastic that's safe to remove).
• Backlight and EDID work – It's recognized as 1600x900 panel
• However, I'm absolutely unable to make it display anything useful. On my first two boot attempts, the display stayed solid black, now it's showing vertical stripes in various colours (different for firmware, terminal and X¹¹ – if I change the resolution in X¹¹, the stripes change colour according to the new aspect ratio). I can't tell whether the display is dead on arrival or the laptop/graphics firmware just somehow initializes the display wrong. Any idea how to proceed from here?

As I said, the results are identical, no matter whether I'm in the firmware/BIOS, or OS.

So, I've bought a yoga panel too and here is how it works:
As you see, the colors are messed.
Another nasty thing is the connector between system board and LCD cable - it can't keep the contact! I had to press it with my hand to make display working, it was completely black unless. How could it work before?
