Hotkey to enable/disable touchpad on E550

Hello,

I have bought new Lenovo E550 with preinstalled Windows 7. It is working fine but there is missing hotkey for turn off/on touchpad.

UltraNAV driver is installed, but there is not quick option for turn off/on touchpad.

Before ( other models Lenovo notebooks ) there was Fn+F8 key but now F8 key is for WIFI on/off.

There is only one way how to do it: START\Control Panel\Mouse\ULTRANAV and manualy check/uncheck option for turn on/off the touchpad.

But this is not comfortable. The question is: Is there any other quick option for turn off/on touchpad?

Thank you

Mathieu

Re: Hotkey to enable/disable touchpad on E550

Hi Raven450,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums!

You could consider disabling the synaptic pointing device in device manager while you have a USB mouse attached or if you are using the trackpad.

Also you can look into the below given link for further steps:

Please write back, whether the above steps helped you.

Thank you, have a good day.

Re: Hotkey to enable/disable touchpad on E550

Hi and thanks for your answer,

Do there is an option to disable the touchpad automicallty when a mouse is plugged in the USB port? And be enable back when the mouse is deconnected? If yes, how I do that?

Thank you,

Mathieu

Re: Hotkey to enable/disable touchpad on E550

Hi Raven450,

We do have the shortcut key to disable the touchpad i.e. Fn + F8 but only for the selected laptops not every laptop has this option, even for my laptop I do not have the option of disabling touchpad. Hence, as suggested in the above post only through that we can unable the touchpad while we are in the use of USB mouse.

Please write back, whether the above suggestion helped you.

Thank you, have a good day.
