There's a possible solution in another thread, but I haven't tried it yet: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-1xx-3xx-5xx-7xx/IdeaPad-330-15IGM-Trackpad-device-settin...
The solution calls for downloading older drivers from a third-party site. By the date and size of those drivers, they seem to be the same backup drivers installed by Lenovo on the D: drive.

I have an elan touchpad, but it didn't have a disable feature for the pinch zoom, so I went to the registry and fixed the problem myself. I did it like this:
windows button + R
A run bar should open up. Type in "regedit" and a registry editor should ask permission to run on your computer.
It should look like a windows folder map.
My zoom was here:
scroll all the way down, i had an option titled "ZOOM_ENABLE"
i set the value to 0 (which means disabled)
1 means enabled
maybe this will work for you.

Thank you SO much for this solution!!
Touchpad issues like this on my L340 are the only thing I hate about this laptop so far, and your solution seems to have fixed the worst one. I spent a couple hours trying several other solutions that got me nowhere, and I was just starting to get upset that I'd have to return an otherwise decent laptop because of one ridiculously stupid touchpad "feature".
I will add just one thing, which some users may forget to do...
Use caution: ALWAYS create a backup reg file before editing your registry!!
It's literally 1 simple step, but will save your a** if something goes wrong:
1. Open the registry editor as described (win btn + R, then run 'regedit')
2. File menu -> export -> save .reg file whereve you'd like
3. To revert back to the pre-edited registry, just use File menu -> import -> select .reg file to restore
