Incorrect screen resolution when connecting external display via USB-C

When the user connect the USB-C cable from the display to the laptop, the resolution i wrong on both displays and/or one of the displays is black.

To solve the problem you have to change the display settings in Windows 10 (version 1903).

Next time you disconnect and connect the USB-C cable it is the problem again.

Laptop: "Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E431  - Type 6277" connected to first display via USB-C cable

Display: Two "Lenovo ThinkVision P24h-10" connected together via display-port cable.

Re: Incorrect screen resolution when connecting external display via USB-C

Hi there,

According to the product specification of your ThinkPad E431, doesn't include video output for the two USB 3.0 ports on the machine.

Should you want to use two external display at the same time, we recommend that you use a ThinkPad OneLink Dock can deliver video with no compression, no drivers and no impact on image quality and notebook performance.

Regards,
