Lenovo Edge E545 wifi connection drop

Hello there!

having same issue with my e545 wifi card here..

do not understand where the problem is and seems that many people like us are having it!

in my case wifi signal work fine for few min, then signal drop drammatically for no reason!

and this has happend since i got the laptop back to last summer of 2014, but never really try to fix the problem..

i am not a pc geek, the only thing that make me think that the signal is dropping is when i check the wireless

connection on the bottom right corner (win 7 ultimate) and i see that a lot of wifi connection are avaible for a

while..but then in few min all disappears leaving only few avaible, the ones with the stronger signal to be clear, and

while this is happening internect connection drop extremely Smiley Sad .

I have tryed to update/reinstall drivers but nothing seems working..

Do we really have to change card as some people are suggesting?

Anyone has sorted this issue without having to change card?

Also i have notice only now that Dell inspirion was using the same card, and i own that up to last year..and the

problem was the same!(low wifi signal)(clever me also for not even checking the card before the purchase Smiley Sad )

Please if anybody has sorted the problem without having to change card, give us some help!

Thanx

Re: Lenovo Edge E545 wifi connection drop

Hi Belfazul,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with Wifi signal on your ThinkPad Edge E545.

Go to Device manager – Network adapters – Right click on Wifi adapter and go to properties, click on Power Management tab and uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”, and click OK. After closing the entire window check with restarting the system once.

If the issue still persists then boot the system in to ‘Safe Mode with networking’ and check it once.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Hemanth Kumar

Re: Lenovo Edge E545 wifi connection drop

Hi guys!

I faced the same problem and I solved it.

What I did?

1. Go to Device manager – Network adapters – Right click on Wifi adapter and go to properties, click on Power Management tab and uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”, and click OK.

2.Enable the Wireless in BIOS as in the link https://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/solutions/ht071417

Cheers!
