Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E520 Screen Viewing Angle

Hi guys. I bought a Thinkpad Edge E520 a while ago. It's a great piece of kit but I feel it's let down by the screen. The viewing angles are very bad as is the contrast. Is it possible to swap out the screen for a more high end one? I don't want to use an external monitor, oh and the screen is matte which is fine...it's just the atrocious viewing angles and sub par contrast.

Re: Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E520 Screen Viewing Angle

You may or may not be able to shim in the 15.6" 1920x1080 panel from the T520/W520.

Of course, it'd void your warranty.

There are some color calibration tricks you can use so they'll appear to shift less as the viewer moves off angle. (Crushing the lighter colors may work, at a loss of contrast.)
