Re: Lenovo thinkpad E450 is not getting started

Hi,

My lenovo thinkpad E450 is not starting. It was on sleep mode and when I logged into it, it started normally for a few seconds and then got shut down abruptly. Now when I press the power button, the red light blinks one time and then nothing happens. It's under warranty. Please help me out.

PS: It has a non detachable battery

thanks!!

Re: Lenovo thinkpad E450 is not getting started

Anurag1991,

Were you able to resolve this?

If holding the power button down for an extended period of time does not restore power, according to the E450 Hardware Maintenance Manual on page 27, there is a reset hole where one end of a paper clip can be inserted to reset the system.

If that does not work, follow the procedure in the HMM to remove the back cover, which does not void warranty, and reseat the internal battery.

If none of these steps restore power, please contact Lenovo Service for support.

Thank you,

same issue with my Lenovo T450 Thinkpad, problem solved by customer support

I had the same issue yesterday. My laptop did not start/turn on. No lights or any activity showing that it is powered on. I tried the 10 times start button press steps but it did not work. I then called customer support, who asked me to use the paper clip to reset the CMOS. The reset pin is at the back of your laptop, on my T450 it is exactly at the back under the mouse pad area and my laptop was brought back from the dead.

Steps

1. Remove battery.

2. Remove AC power supply

3. Reset the hardware with the paperclip.

4. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

5. Put the battery in.

6. Connect to AC powers.

7. Press the start button. (Customer care said it will start on the press, but for me, it worked on second press)

Good luck!

It went into sleep mode, and I can not wake it up. The red light is on (and when I press the power button for long time it went off, and on again when pressing on it, but there is nothing on screem).

I tried to find out reset hole, but there is no such thing on my laptop (E450).
